Plaque honouring Sarah Ferguson's charity work at Great Ormond Street is removed amid Epstein fallout

A plaque commemorating Sarah Ferguson's 1990 opening of a "Homes from Home" hostel near Great Ormond Street Hospital has been quietly taken down, leaving only an outline and two drill holes visible in the brickwork. The Sick Children's Trust, which operates the hostel, and Ferguson's representatives both declined to comment. Ferguson, 66, had served as a patron of the charity for decades, visiting young patients and opening several of its hostels, yet her name no longer appears anywhere on the charity's website.
The removal follows the publication last year of emails revealing the depth of Ferguson's friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Several charities have already cut ties with Ferguson; her namesake organisation, Sarah's Trust, closed in February this year.
Andrew, her ex-husband, gave up his royal titles in October 2025 and was taken into custody on his 66th birthday in February this year.
