Leicestershire Police and councils across England distributed printable 'no trick or treat' posters ahead of Halloween, explicitly citing residents who may be "observing religious or cultural beliefs that do not include Halloween." Swale Borough Council in Kent and Buckinghamshire Council joined the campaign, with one warning trick-or-treaters to avoid disturbing residents "fighting demons of their own."
Reform UK councillor Sam Journet blasted the move: 'Someone PLEASE tell the woke brigade to get a life.'
One furious X user noted police 'can't be arsed chasing burglars or shoplifters but they've got time to print Halloween posters.'
Suffolk Constabulary went further, urging retailers to restrict sales of eggs and flour to young people in the Halloween run-up.
