Police appeal for doorbell footage after a woman in her sixties is found badly injured under a Dorchester bridge

Discovered in an alleyway between Sawmills Lane and Herringston Road in Dorchester shortly after 10am on Thursday 29 October, a woman in her sixties had sustained injuries serious enough that police cannot yet rule out life-changing consequences. Officers have not made any arrests and have still to determine how she came to be hurt.

The alleyway runs near a YMCA hostel and cricket green; the woman was wearing a white bucket hat, dark coat and white shoes.

PC Jacob Chutter of Dorset County CID is urging anyone with dashcam footage from the Manor Road area to review it from that morning.

Dorchester mayor Les Fry insisted the town is 'a very safe place' and that such incidents 'don't happen at all often'.
