Police appeal for witnesses after boy, 10, is left fighting for life in three-car crash in the Scottish Borders

The 10-year-old was a passenger in a Seat Leon that collided with an Audi Q5 and a Jaguar F Pace on the A701 between Broughton and Blyth Bridge at about 12.15pm on Friday. A teenage boy in the same car was also taken to hospital. The male drivers of the Seat and the Jaguar suffered serious injuries. A woman passenger in the Audi was hospitalised too.

The A701 was shut for around seven hours and reopened at about 7.10pm.

Sgt Grant Hastie urged drivers in the area to check their dash-cam footage.

Police have released no details of any injuries to the Audi's driver.
