Police hunt a black car after a motorcyclist dies plunging into the sea from a Great Orme coastal road
A large multi-agency rescue operation brought together North Wales Police, HM Coastguard and the RNLI before a helicopter crew winched the motorcyclist from the water and flew him to Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital in Bangor, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Officers are urgently trying to trace the driver of a black car — thought to be a Ford Fiesta — seen heading up toward the Great Orme summit between 10pm and 10.30pm.
Sergeant Alun Jones of the North Wales Police Roads Crime Unit is appealing for anyone with dashcam footage from Marine Drive that evening to come forward.
The man's family has been informed of his death, the coroner has been notified, and his name has not yet been released.
