Police hunt knifeman and appeal for witnesses after teenager is stabbed in the chest at a busy park

A boy aged 16 has been held on suspicion of affray, though the knifeman himself remains unidentified. The stabbing took place near the bandstand in the Pump Room Gardens at around 22:25 BST on Friday. Det Insp Imran Ghouri said Warwickshire Police were aware that large numbers of people had been in the area at the time. The victim remains in hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

Ghouri described it as 'an extremely serious incident' and said detectives are working to find the attacker.

Warwickshire Police are asking anyone with video footage of the attack to come forward.
