Police hunt the driver of a black Range Rover that hit a girl, 17, and failed to stop in Midlothian

The teenager was struck on Old Dalkeith Road in Danderhall, just outside Edinburgh, at around 4.30pm on Friday, October 16. She needed hospital treatment after the collision. Constable Geoff Valentine described it as 'a frightening incident for the pedestrian'. Police Scotland's road policing officers are now trying to trace both the car and whoever was behind the wheel.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the Range Rover before the crash.

Drivers in Danderhall that afternoon are urged to check their dash-cam footage.

Witnesses should call 101 and quote incident number 3760 of October 16.
