Police hunt two people who fled after a car they were chasing hit and killed a woman, 36, in Leeds

A black Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop for West Yorkshire Police on Harehills Road at 9.50am on Thursday, and within two minutes had struck and killed the pedestrian on Beckett Street, Leeds. The driver did not stop, and the car was found abandoned on Nippet Lane shortly afterwards. The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team has taken charge of the investigation and an IOPC referral has been made due to prior police contact.
West Yorkshire Police have seized the Corsa for forensic examination and are urging witnesses with dashcam footage to come forward.
At least two people are believed to have been in the vehicle when it fled the scene.
Witnesses to the collision, or those who saw the Corsa at any point beforehand or afterwards, should call police on 101.
