Police identify man in CCTV hunt after two girls, 14, were raped and sexually assaulted in an Oxford park

A 20-year-old Oxford man arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault has been bailed until 14 January. On 28 July, the two girls encountered four unknown males in Florence Park, and two of those males led them to a wooded section of Marsh Park, where one girl was raped and the other was sexually assaulted. Thames Valley Police issued the CCTV image on Friday.

The assaults took place in broad daylight, between approximately 5.15pm and 6pm.

A boy who had been arrested in connection with the attacks was subsequently released without charge after police cleared him.

Det Con Sarah Tibble said officers had carried out ID parades, forensic searches and phone enquiries.
