Police identify man in CCTV image after appeal over rape and sexual assault of two 14-year-old girls in Oxford park

A 20-year-old Oxford man arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault has been bailed until 14 January. On 28 July, the two 14-year-old girls were approached in Florence Park by four unknown males and engaged in conversation with them. Two of those males then took the girls to a wooded part of Marsh Park, where one was raped and the other was sexually assaulted. Both girls fled and called the police.
The assaults occurred in broad daylight, between approximately 17:15 and 18:00 BST.
A boy arrested over the incident has been eliminated from the inquiry and released without charge.
Det Con Sarah Tibble said officers had carried out ID parades, forensic searches and phone enquiries.
