Police pull a teenage burglary suspect out of a wheelie bin by his legs after a foot chase in Bolton

Officers were called to Ullswater Drive in Farnworth at 3.50am on Saturday after a group attempted to break into and steal from a garden shed. Body-cam footage shows a torchbeam revealing two black shoes protruding from a green bin on its side. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and a 16-year-old girl was detained on suspicion of attempted burglary. Both have been bailed as police seek to identify the remaining members of the group.

Sergeant Emily Fogg said the boy 'clearly did a rubbish job of hiding'.

An officer is heard on the footage shouting: 'He is inside. Oi, out you come now.'

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting log 475 of 24/10/26.
