'I won't have anybody call me a liar': Katie Price clashes with barrister at ex-husband's child rape trial
Katie Price, who told jurors nobody took her seriously when she first raised concerns about Kieran Hayler, adding: "They believe me now.Katie Price told the court she had 'self-medicated on coke due to Kieran introducing it' and had 'tried to kill myself twice,' as Hayler faces three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
Katie Price clashed with Kieran Hayler's barrister Arlette Piercy at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday when Piercy told her directly "I am" calling her a liar. Price, 48, responded that her presence was unnecessary given the written evidence, and has now completed three days of testimony at the trial where Hayler, 39, denies three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of a girl aged 13 in West Sussex in 2016. Price told jurors that nobody took her seriously when she first voiced concerns about Hayler, but added: "They believe me now."
Price accused Piercy of 'discrimination' after the barrister raised her 'cocaine and booze benders', firing back: 'I don't care if you are a barrister, you are not going to slander my name.'
Hayler's defence claims Price 'launched a campaign' against him after their marriage collapsed, and he told police in January 2022 he was being 'set up'.
Following the outburst, the judge warned Price to refrain from sharing her personal views on Hayler's guilt with the jury.
