Police say an Ohio shooting that left one dead near a Columbus mosque was NOT an attack on the building
The gunfire broke out on Monday afternoon near the Alrahma Mosque in the northeast of Columbus, leaving one person dead and another hurt. Federal agents rushed to the scene after early reports of a shooting at the mosque itself.
ATF agents initially responded after multiple victims were reported in the vicinity of the mosque.
Police now say the shooting took place in the area but had no connection to the mosque.
