Police chiefs say schoolgirls are avoiding education because of sexual harassment, and one in ten offences by suspects aged 10 to 18 took place in a school setting. The National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls and Public Protection's first national threat assessment names 'manosphere' influencers such as Andrew Tate among the drivers. Repeat offenders are behind a quarter of all incidents.

Domestic abuse makes up 65 per cent of the 1.36 million offences reported to police.

Helen Millichap, director of the £13million unit, calls the abuse 'a national emergency'.

The report says abuse online happens 'at scale and with impunity'.
