Sijanta Thapa, 32, sexually assaulted a fellow Met officer after she let him sleep on her sofa following a drinks gathering, leaving him with the TV remote while she went to bed. He crept into her room, crawled in behind her, then unbuttoned her dress and fondled her bare breast as she slept. She reported the attack in 2023 and said she was "punished" at work for doing so, and that the assault had shattered her "sense of safety".

Thapa resigned from the Met's Central West command unit in July 2026, handing in his badge before he could be fired at a misconduct hearing.
