Reece Guntley has been found safe after Police Scotland located the 12-year-old, who had been missing from Cumbernauld since Thursday, October 1. Concern had grown after CCTV at Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station showed him there at 1am on Friday; investigators believed he had boarded the number 900 bus to Edinburgh. When he disappeared he was with a group of girls and wearing his school uniform — navy jumper, white shirt, black trousers and shoes.

Sergeant Matthew Stanway had described his concern for Reece as 'growing', appealing for the girls seen with him to contact police.

Before officers tracked him down, Reece had last been seen near Buchanan Bus Station in the company of four girls.

Police had been reviewing CCTV footage across Glasgow and Edinburgh in an attempt to establish his whereabouts.
