Policewoman raped by David Carrick calls for the Met chief to resign after the force's handling left her suicidal

Detective Constable Linda Williams, 60, says that if she were raped tomorrow she would not report it. Having waived her anonymity, she accuses Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley of failing to fix a 'deeply sexist' Met. The force settled her civil claim with a six-figure sum, without accepting liability — a process she described as 'devastating' that pushed her to the point of suicidal thoughts.
The rape took place in 2004 during a three-month posting she was serving under Carrick in south London.
When she said no, he replied: 'It's what I do. I'm going to carry on.'
Carrick, 51, is serving 37 life sentences after admitting 71 sex offences, including 48 rapes.
