Polymarket vows to fully reimburse traders after a compromised third-party provider forced it to halt international trading

Polymarket halted international trading for about an hour on Thursday after a security incident traced to DebugBear, a UK-based website performance monitoring firm, drained $2.65 million from the platform in minutes. The prediction market giant referred the breach to a UK law enforcement agency and restored trading Thursday afternoon.

DebugBear's own website went offline after the attack; it urged clients to remove its embed code immediately.

Polymarket told users on X: 'We'll make this right and are fully reimbursing all affected traders.'

Prediction markets have surged since the 2024 US election, making Polymarket an increasingly high-value target for hackers.
