Former AFL star Daniel Stewart, the Port Adelaide forward turned gym owner, dies suddenly aged 37 after a medical episode

His wife Laura posted a family photo with their two sons, writing: 'Devastated to confirm the loss of our world.' Body Fit Training, the Melbourne gym chain he co-owned with former teammate Matt Thomas, told members he died on Friday. Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson called the death a shock. The club will wear black armbands at its first 2027 home game at Adelaide Oval.

Stewart kicked 31 goals in 36 games as a key Port forward from 2010 to 2013.

Former teammate Kane Cornes called his death 'a true tragedy'.
