Former Port Adelaide AFL star Daniel Stewart, 37, dies after an 'unexpected medical episode', his Melbourne gym tells members

His wife Laura posted a family photo with their two sons, writing: 'A heart too big for this world. We love you so much daddy.' Stewart died on Friday, and Body Fit Training emailed members on Saturday morning. He co-founded the gyms with former teammate Matt Thomas after leaving the AFL. Port Adelaide players will wear black armbands at their first 2027 home game.

Stewart played 36 games for the Power between 2010 and 2013, kicking 31 goals as a key forward.

Former teammate Kane Cornes called his death 'a true tragedy' and hailed 'a brilliant and caring teammate'.

Gym members knew him as 'Snowy' and were asked not to press for further details.
