A hoarse-sounding Donald Trump admitted the midterm campaign trail is a 'strain', telling reporters: 'It's not normal, what I've done.' He conceded that 'a sitting president always does badly in the midterms' but said no president has ever campaigned like him. He told reporters he had backed Republicans 'very much so' down the ballot. He then flew to Georgia to rally for Mike Collins and Rick Jackson.

Trump once called early voting 'stupid' and 'ridiculous' but now urges supporters to 'vote early'.

Mail-in ballots hit 14.3 million, with 12.5 million cast early in person.

Trump even skipped golf at home: 'I wasn't in the mood to play. Because I'm too busy.'
