Fifteen teams of children aged nine to 17 from across India will take part in a two-day programme at Mumbai's Museum of Solutions. Winners of the I CAN Earthshot Challenge will each receive a $2,000 grant at a ceremony on November 17. The scheme extended its reach to nearly a million pupils, spanning 15,000 schools in 24 states. William is also expected to meet Bollywood stars and play cricket during the trip.

The main Earthshot Prize ceremony will hand out £5 million in prize money.

Earthshot chief Jason Knauf said the young finalists are 'already building environmental solutions'.

One entry tackles oil and solid-waste pollution in India's Godavari River.

It will be William's first official trip to India since 2016.
