Prince William says MND campaigner Kevin Sinfield 'should have been Sir Kevin years ago' after knighting him at Windsor Castle

On BBC Breakfast, Prince William described Sir Kevin Sinfield as "a machine" and said he worries about the former rugby league captain's knees and hips. The 46-year-old was among 60 people William honoured at Windsor Castle, for services to the MND community and to rugby league and union. His fundraising efforts were driven by the loss of Rob Burrow — his former Leeds Rhinos teammate, who died from MND in 2024. William added that he also wrote to Burrow's widow Lindsey and their children.

William called the knighthood "probably the easiest decision anyone's ever had to make".

He said: "The more Kevs we have in this country the better."

William and Kate surprised Sinfield in Wakefield during his seven ultra-marathons in seven days.
