Speaking on BBC Breakfast, the Prince of Wales said honouring Sir Kevin Sinfield was 'probably the easiest decision anyone's ever had to make'. He said he worries about the 46-year-old's knees and hips after his latest seven ultramarathons in seven days. William and Catherine surprised him in Wakefield on day three. The challenge honoured former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow, who died of MND in 2024.

William hailed a 'good, honest, kind, decent northerner' with 'no ego' at all.

The prince wrote to Rob Burrow's widow Lindsey and children Macy, Maya and Jackson.

Sinfield was among 60 people William honoured at a Windsor Castle investiture.
