Princess Anne visited Sir Kevin Sinfield on day two of his '7 in 7: The Grand Finale' challenge in York, drawing laughs when she declined his invitation to join the run by declaring 'I'll stick with horses.' The Princess Royal, Patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, met hundreds of supporters at the University of York Athletics Track as Sinfield completed the second of seven ultramarathons in seven days.
Anne told Sinfield 'I can run but I don't do it for fun — I'm past that stage' after they agreed 'fun run' was a 'contradiction.'
Sinfield revealed he is fuelled by bacon butties, and admitted he would prefer rain because bad weather drives up TV donations.
The rugby league legend's team noted that in all his previous challenges, nobody had ever joined them for a leg on horseback.
