Princess of Wales makes a secret visit to a mental health charity and says nature was 'healing' during her cancer

The Princess of Wales made a private visit last week to Dose Of Nature, a mental health charity at Pensford Field near Kew in west London, telling a volunteer nature guide that spending time outdoors had felt "healing" during her own cancer recovery. Catherine met founder Dr Alison Greenwood and clinical lead Dr Georgina Gould to learn about the charity's clinically-led approach, which works with NHS and GP referrals to issue "nature prescriptions" to those struggling with their mental wellbeing.

Kate told volunteer guide Tom: 'Our journey has been very very different, but I felt the same.'

Founded in 2018, Dose Of Nature combines psychology, nature connection and one-on-one support for NHS-referred patients.

In a recent essay, Kate wrote that time in nature nurtures 'awareness, empathy, humility, and above all, love.'
