Prison psychologist who had sex with inmate and smuggled him contraband is jailed for two years and four months

Hundreds of Snapchat messages, explicit images among them, exposed the relationship between Amber Gayle, 32, and Rickcarlo Williams, 24, an inmate at HMPYOI Swinfen Hall near Lichfield, where she worked as a psychologist. The messages also showed the pair had sex inside its grounds.

Detective Superintendent Ross Jones said psychologist Amber Gayle 'used her position of authority to operate below the radar'.

Inmate Rickcarlo Williams 'consistently arranged parcels' for psychologist Amber Gayle, then helped distribute them inside, police said.

Both Amber Gayle, the psychologist, and inmate Rickcarlo Williams must surrender mobile phones and cash and pay a surcharge.
