Police Scotland is investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Balmoral stays with Epstein amid claims women were trafficked to the royal estate
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who Police Scotland says was present at Balmoral alongside convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell during the period now under active investigation.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly invited convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein to Balmoral in 1999, and flight logs show Mountbatten-Windsor and Ghislaine Maxwell flew there on Epstein's private jet in September 2006. Police Scotland confirmed it has received "information" and that "active inquiries are ongoing" into whether women were trafficked to the King's Highland estate during those visits.
An undated photo released by US prosecutors at Maxwell's trial shows Epstein and Maxwell at the Glen Beg log cabin on the royal estate.
Mountbatten-Windsor was already arrested on his 66th birthday in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, released under investigation, and denies wrongdoing.
A cryptic 2001 email signed 'A xxx' was sent to Maxwell from Balmoral asking if she had 'found me some new inappropriate friends'.
