Profit warnings from UK firms hit their highest level in two years as Healey's first Budget looms

EY found 65 UK-listed companies issued profit warnings in the three months to September, up from 59. 'Policy change and geopolitical uncertainty' drove 54 per cent of them, the highest share in over 25 years of EY's analysis. Businesses fear Chancellor John Healey could raid banks, capital gains tax and bookmakers. The autumn Budget is less than two weeks away.
Rachel Reeves put taxes up by £75 billion before Andy Burnham sacked her.
38 per cent of warnings blamed the fallout from Trump's Iran war.
