Dr Avram Mack, the prosecution's psychiatric witness in the Lindsay Clancy case, left his position at Nemours Children's Health in Delaware on the same day he faced sharp cross-examination from defence attorney Kevin Reddington. The hospital acknowledged his departure without offering an explanation, and Mack did not respond to calls or emails. The nine-woman, three-man jury had yet to return a verdict by Friday, with deliberations scheduled to continue Monday.

Mack told the jury that Clancy said 'Go to God' to each of her three children while using exercise bands to strangle them in January 2023.

Mack concluded Clancy had suffered 'a major depressive episode' but exhibited no psychosis, contending that her suicide attempt was 'organised' and that she retained decision-making capacity throughout.

While deliberations continue, a New York judge acquitted Dimone Fleming, 26, on grounds of insanity for stabbing her two sons and holding them underwater in a Bronx shelter bathtub in 2022.
