Public are warned to stay away from a dead whale washed up on a Cumbria beach after Storm Boelo
The carcass is a juvenile northern bottlenose whale, discovered at Flimby beach on Saturday after Storm Austen and Storm Boelo battered the UK. Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team was called to the shoreline. Coastguards said the whale 'may have toxins that can pass to humans' and urged people not to touch it. They also warned that Storm Boelo was 'still going strong'.
The species can dive more than 1,400m deep and stay underwater for two hours.
