Speaking at the Russia-Africa summit in Moscow on Thursday, Putin declared "we are ready" for war with Europe while insisting Russia does not seek one, warning that any escalation would leave no side victorious. The remarks came as Western intelligence officials warn Russia's hybrid sabotage campaign across Europe risks a catastrophic miscalculation before 2030.
Putin called Finland and Norway's leaders, welcoming the contact as a step toward restored relations, though he claimed they insisted they did not represent the EU.
The Russian president said Europe has failed to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia and claimed this remains unlikely even by 2030, when NATO warns Moscow may have the resources to attack the alliance.
