Queens woman shot three times by NYPD officer after knife charge as man, 48, is charged with attempted murder
Edward Grant describes the 39-year-old woman shot three times at the Queens house on 149th Street as both his girlfriend and a victim who was attempting to restrain the attacker. NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said she advanced on officers with a knife after two men had complied with commands. Police do not believe she was responsible for the original stabbing. Rashaun Donovan, 48, faces two counts of attempted murder.
She was struck in the shoulder, leg and chest, and all four injured people are in stable condition.
Grant says she deployed pepper spray against the intruder, insisting: 'It wasn't a home invasion.'
Speaking to officers from a window, an injured man said it was his uncle who had stabbed him.
