RAF jets had two near misses with unidentified drones over the North Sea, and their source has still not been revealed

On February 18, a black circular object flew 100 to 150ft above an RAF Voyager refuelling a Typhoon off Cromer in Norfolk. Five days later, a Typhoon pilot practising dogfights saw a similar object pass directly over him. One drone was reportedly hovering at 17,000ft, 40 times the legal ceiling for commercial drones.

The RAF alerted police, and 'multiple different external investigations' were launched.

Defence experts have linked drones over US bases in Norfolk and Suffolk to a Russian ship.
