Ryan Brough, 32, and Max Tyson, 25, both of Islington, were each jailed for 40 months at Inner London Crown Court today after admitting two counts of conspiracy to burgle across five raids on London luxury boutiques. The pair struck the Bond Street YSL store three times with a black Toyota SUV, ramming its fortified windows until they gained entry, as a moped rider stood guard outside. Detectives from the Met's Flying Squad arrested both men later the same day.
The biggest single haul came from Loro Piana near Harrods on December 16, when the duo reversed a white Mitsubishi into the windows and fled with goods worth nearly £400,000.
They had also hit Bottega Veneta on Old Bond Street and END Clothing in Broadwick Street, netting £40,000 and further stolen goods across the spree.
Chef Oliver Ndayizeye, 36, who handed over his Vauxhall Insignia for an earlier failed attempt on the same YSL store, received a 36-week suspended sentence.
