Farage calls Burnham's push for an 'honest discussion' on EU free movement a 'total betrayal of Brexit Britain'

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has indicated that remaining outside free movement is no longer an absolute condition of his negotiations with Brussels. Housing secretary Angela Rayner defended this on Sky News as 'just pragmatism'. Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, called him 'deluded' and vowed to 'fight this dishonesty'. Burnham is due to meet EU chiefs at a Brussels summit on November 20.

Burnham claims pre-Brexit migrants were 'generally younger people' who went home after a few years.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said there 'can be no return' to free movement.

Labour's 2024 manifesto ruled out free movement, single market membership and a customs union.
