'Recluse' actor mauled to death by a tiger had moved to Doncaster for a 'fresh start', his neighbours say

William Chapman, 24, never told his neighbours Kelsey Smith, 18, and Joshua Anderson, 23, that he had been an actor. An inquest heard he died of 'multiple traumatic injuries and animal interaction'. Senior Coroner Nicola Mundy noted that Chapman had a diagnosis of schizophrenia and a history of psychotic episodes. Anderson called him 'a harmless young man who made a fatal mistake'.

Chapman ordered an orange juice or half a John Smith's at the local bar once a week.

Neighbours never saw any family visit him, and he often sat alone at bus stops.

He loved hiking in the Peak District, so a zoo visit 'wasn't out of character'.
