Reform's London mayoral candidate Laila Cunningham, a former criminal prosecutor, has launched a pointed attack on Sadiq Khan over rising robbery and knife crime, arguing that the mayor has let Londoners down by insisting the city is safer than residents feel it to be. Two of her seven children have had knives pulled on them near their home. The Metropolitan Police detects only seven per cent of reported crimes, yet Khan continues to hold up London as one of the safest cities in the world.

Cunningham has pledged to restore stop and search, put officers back into neighbourhood policing and deport foreign nationals who commit crimes.
