Republican candidate hands Trump a 'Man of the Century' award he invented himself after the president's Nobel snub

Joe Mitchell, 29, a former state representative now in a close contest with Democrat Lindsay James for Iowa's 2nd congressional district, joined Donald Trump on stage at a Sioux City rally and raised a gold-framed certificate. Mitchell described the president's repeated Nobel Peace Prize snub as 'a disgrace', then told the 'artificial media' and CNN to 'zoom in' on the award.

Trump mouthed 'wow', shook Mitchell's hand and passed the certificate to an aide.

The Nobel Peace Prize went to South African jurist Navi Pillay on October 9.

Pillay joked that more applause might make her 'share this prize with Trump'.
