Republican candidate invents a 'Man of the Century' award and presents it to Trump after his Nobel snub

Joe Mitchell, 29, a Republican in a neck-and-neck contest for Iowa's 2nd congressional district, joined Donald Trump on stage in Sioux City on Thursday. He told the crowd it was 'a disgrace' Trump has never won the Nobel Peace Prize, then produced a gold-framed certificate of his own making. Trump mouthed 'wow', shook his hand and passed it to an aide.

The real Nobel went on 9 October to South African jurist Navi Pillay.

Pillay joked: 'If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump.'

Mitchell urged the 'artificial media' to film it: 'CNN, zoom in right here.'
