Republicans could still prove the pollsters wrong in the US midterms despite Democrats leading the Senate race

CNN data analyst Harry Enten's polling aggregate puts Democratic Senate candidates ahead in Iowa, Texas, Michigan and Ohio, and at least tied in Kansas. He warned that most of those races sit within a 3.7-point average error rate. He called that a 'big siren warning sign' for Democrats who have watched leads vanish before. Republicans, meanwhile, face September inflation of 3.7 per cent while early voting is under way.

Republican Scott Perry trails Democrat Janelle Stelson 49 to 46 in Pennsylvania's 10th district.

Enten said Democrats fear it is 'Lucy and the football' on election night.
