Man, 61, appears in court is accused of murdering housing officer, 47, who crashed her car after being stabbed at work

Clifford Foster, 61, used a crutch in the dock at Newport Magistrates' Court with a swollen eye, telling the judge: 'I can hear you from here.' He is accused of murdering Eleanor Barnfield, a mother-of-two attacked at the Ger-y-Nant retirement complex where he lived and she worked. Armed police held a 12-hour stand-off there before arresting him. He was remanded to Cardiff Crown Court on Monday.
Foster is allegedly to have been in a flat she said he shouldn't be in.
The Welsh Ambulance Service called rumours of a delayed response 'factually untrue'.
Her family's tribute: 'the kindest, most loving, bravest person in the world'.
