Richard E Grant says he has a habit of 'getting to the punchline too quickly' after Celebrity Traitors gaffe

Richard E Grant, 69, has addressed the moment he accidentally revealed his Traitor status to a room full of Celebrity Traitors castmates — calling it the biggest slip-up in the show's history. The admission came as he appeared on Classic FM's Cash Call, where he promptly blundered again by blurting out a record-breaking £1.25million prize win to Andy, a ceramic tiler from Essex, the moment he picked up the phone.

Grant told the Celebrity Traitors cast he was a Traitor before he had even reached the turret, prompting Joe Lycett to say 'you've just done something that has never happened in the game.'

The £1.25million Classic FM prize is the biggest ever won on UK radio, though Grant's announcement left little room for a dramatic reveal.

James Acaster, recruited as a Traitor against his wishes, is meanwhile struggling — having previously admitted 'I'm not good at lying and I don't make a habit of it.'
