Richard E Grant left his fellow celebrities baffled in the opening episode of Celebrity Traitors season two after accidentally revealing his traitor status almost immediately after being chosen. Host Claudia Winkleman has explained what caused Grant's extraordinary blunder, which left the castle in chaos. Fans are already convinced one other star is 'guilty as hell' after a crushing cliffhanger ending to the first episode.

Season one winner Alan Carr had tipped Grant as a 'really interesting' addition, and singled out Miranda Hart as potential 'TV gold' if made a traitor.

Irish comedian Joanne McNally is emerging as the dark horse to watch, with Carr describing her as a 'whirlwind' and a 'motormouth' to look out for.

The 21-celebrity cast are competing for up to £100,000 for charity, with Claudia Winkleman secretly selecting which stars become murderous traitors.
