Rival gunmen who traded shots outside a Birmingham nightclub and hit a jerk chicken seller are jailed for 18 years
One bullet passed through Kimani Durrell-Smith's shoulder and struck stallholder Garth Pantry, who needed surgery for a partially collapsed lung. Aaron Nubie had returned to FJ Lounge in Aston at around 6am to 'put right the disrespect' after a row inside. Both men opened fire within a fraction of a second. Each was jailed for 18 years at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday.
Representing himself, Nubie told the court it was 'a form of self-defence'.
Pantry says he suffers sleepless nights and has not worked since the shooting.
Both men turned up wounded but refused to tell police how it happened.
