Robert Jenrick clashes with ITV presenter who asked if he has 'defector's remorse', branding him a 'left-wing commentator and activist'

Robert Jenrick turned on ITV's Paul Brand live on Good Morning Britain on Thursday after Brand pressed him on Reform UK's polling slide and a half-empty hall at Nigel Farage's pre-Budget speech this week. Brand cited Ipsos figures showing only one in five Britons now believe Reform is ready to govern, down from nearly a third a year ago. Jenrick called Brand a "left-wing activist" who "always just asks negative questions about Reform."

Brand fired back by listing stories he had broken, including the Partygate scandal and a Labour antisemitism investigation.

Jenrick tried to change the subject to Reform's 280,000 members, dismissing the empty-hall footage as "silly trivia."
