Romantasy fans in fae costumes queue at midnight as Sarah J Maas's sixth ACOTAR book ends a five-year wait

Waterstones stores across the UK hosted midnight launch parties on Monday night for 'A Court of Splintered Harmony', the sixth instalment in Sarah J Maas's ACOTAR series, drawing fans dressed in fae-inspired costumes despite torrential rain in some locations. The book hit shelves on Tuesday after fans waited more than five years since the previous instalment in February 2021. Events ranged from Waterstones Piccadilly in London to The Secret Bookshelf in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

London's flagship Piccadilly store opened festivities at 10pm with quizzes, a costume competition, a sprayed-edge workshop and drinks.

Around 30 fans braved high winds and rain at The Secret Bookshelf in Carrickfergus, with activities including felting and friendship bracelet making.
