Rory Kennedy pays tribute to 'funny and fierce' niece Kyle Kennedy, the RFK granddaughter who died aged 42

Kyle Kennedy passed away at her Westwood, Massachusetts home on September 21, with investigators examining the circumstances surrounding her death. The educator and mother sustained a serious spinal cord injury in 2020 that resulted in permanent paralysis; she went on to advocate for disability rights and gave testimony at the Massachusetts State House on health care discrimination. Her aunt Rory Kennedy said: 'She will be deeply missed.'

Her father, Michael Kennedy, was killed skiing in 1997 when she was just 13.

Her baby daughter Josie, twin sister of her son Conor, died days after birth.

In 2019 she ran the Boston Marathon and beat her late father's time by 20 minutes.
