Rough seas halt the search for two Isle of Lewis fishermen whose crewmate died after their boat vanished

Norman Murray, 40, who goes by Tam, and Murdo Morrison, 23, remain unaccounted for, and the fishing vessel Kilda has yet to be located. Their crewmate Douglas Craigie, 49, was pulled from the sea dead at around 2.45am on Wednesday. On Saturday, police announced they had identified an 'area of interest' close to Port of Ness. Chief Inspector Ross McCartney said the search 'will resume' once conditions allow.

The Kilda departed Brevaig at roughly 7.30am on Tuesday and did not come back.

Investigators have prohibited divers from entering the waters between the Butt of Lewis and Port of Ness.

Police called on local people not to place themselves in danger by conducting their own searches.
