Royal commentator Carole Malone alleged that financial ambition has been a constant force in Meghan's life, claiming she once spoke openly of an ambition to rank among the world's earliest female billionaires and was left deflated on learning that Prince Harry's personal wealth fell well short of that mark.

Malone claimed Meghan 'was gutted when she realised she was only a millionaire' after marrying Harry.

Malone also dismissed Meghan's reported MasterChef Australia: Junior appearance as 'a relatively small audience' gig at 'the other end of the world.'

Malone said flatly: 'Money has always, always obsessed Meghan — she has always been after it.'
